My Uncle Lyn was quick witted, a great story teller and always had a joke...he'd tell you in advance if it was clean or dirty. He'd poke fun at everything and everyone. But ultimately, he defined a man by whether or not he'd share a foxhole with him.
Lucky Forward was the code name for General Patton's army headquarters and a slogan among the troops. I am embarrassed to admit I did not know the meaning of those two words when I first heard them. The song Lucky Forward was trying to come to me but I lacked a focal point. Then one day I googled Lucky Forward and quickly found my way to General Patton's famous speech to the troops before the Allied Invasion. In that speech, I found my focus and the song flowed out like a gift. While this song started with one inspiration, it took on a greater purpose.
This song is a tribute to all our troops...Lucky Forward!
